Yoga Sri Lanka

Yoga is a difficult topic to discuss in this high-tech era. The real concept of this ancient art has long been forgotten, buried within the demanding lifestyle of modern day globalization. To make it easy for the common man to understand, the whole philosophy has been reduced to a simple concept. Westerners may find the contents to be complex and not easily understood. To be on the safe side, it is good to gain a thorough understanding of a particular subject before you begin to speak of it from an expert’s viewpoint. Unfortunately, the western world seems to place the physical aspects of yoga as the main focus. It is represented as a physical activity that is directed towards the achievement of inner balance and meditative states of mind.

It has its origins in the Hindu religion and is a physical manifestation representing one of the six schools of Hindu thought. Any Indian would assure you that it is a spiritual experience that is manifested through a series of complicated physical practice. It is unfortunate that the western world would approach yoga as a mere physical activity. Most westerners are aware of the strange symbols associated with yoga practice, but often they are misunderstood. Operating from the wrong paradigm, yoga became a form of sports in the western world. The allure of yoga as an effective way to gain inner peace and balance has beckoned many to embrace this activity as well. Nevertheless many have been attracted to yoga as a form of practice to achieve inner peace and balance.

Almost all who proclaim themselves as yoga masters perpetrate these claims and the masses are undoubtedly fascinated. The numerous amount of fatal errors found in the practice of yoga outside of India shows that this art has been widely misunderstood at large. Closer observation reveals that the unique culture of each race has dramatically influenced the way yoga is practiced. Apparently, the west is not prepared to spend too much time in meaningful contemplations of this philosophy, hence the resulting fatal error due to a lack of understanding. Sometimes, the most important part of this practice is neglected, for instance the essential meditation. The greed for power and material wealth which is integral in the western culture has no place in the Hindu culture. Unless these values are changed, it is impossible for westerners to achieve the true wisdom and enlightenment as defined by the parameters of the Hindu religion. One needs to possess both time and patience to fully reap the rewards of a successful meditative session. The westerners do not place a high degree of importance in the attainment of philosophical wisdom, as it does for the accumulation of massive wealth and gaining power.

Here, yoga as been practiced by those who desire to look good and stay in style. There is a lot of information going out promoting yoga as a form of sports; in fact you can grab any of those and start practicing yoga anywhere you want to. There are famous people who embraced this practice and become fake gurus and still they have enough support from their followers. Obedient disciples of this distorted form of yoga have become agents of growth of this unhealthy philosophy.
