Clinicians Vitamin And Mineral Boost
Mineral supplements are a contradiction today because they are not natural but chemical and so go against the natural concept of health. This however, does not seem to have deterred many people from taking a lot of them. If these are of a chemical composition, then the questions of harmful effects are bound to arise.
In fact our body does not assimilate the chemical supplements as easily as normal food particles. Constantly, the industry is striving to produce products are easily processed by the body which therefore would make them more beneficial. Every now and then the industry comes up with a new ‘more bio-available’ form of a vitamin or mineral. This has led to striving to develop supplements that are absorbed better by a process of combining various elements. Iron for example is administered as iron gluconate, enabling the body to absorb the iron more readily.
When it comes to mineral supplements, they must contain greater quantities of the nutrient in order to allow the body to absorb enough. However, this could also result in larger quantities of the mineral being absorbed than is needed resulting in toxic levels. To be on the safer side you must consult your health professional before you start consuming a large quantity of these supplements that are advertised in the media. You also need to be aware of all of the developments that are taking place within the industry producing mineral vitamin supplements because they are constantly some better and new combinations that are being developed.
The manufacturers of the vitamin supplements have started culturing the raw materials using yeast cells so as to aid better absorption. This form of supplements are known as ‘food state’ and are up to four times easier for the body to absorb the required nutrients as the yeast is completely digested.
The vitamin supplement needs are based purely on individual requirements. Whenever possible, it is best to obtain one’s nutrients from regular balanced diets versus supplements. Long term use of chemical supplements is not generally recommended - however, your health condition may require you to take these supplements for a short period of time.
